The Five Steps of Growing Mushrooms:

1. Prepare: Clean your workspace and gather the supplies included in your Mushroom Grow Kit. When inoculating your Grow Bags it is very important to work in a clean environment while wearing a face mask and gloves, with no moving air.
2. Inoculate: Inject your chosen mushroom spores through the self-healing port. Read below for step-by-step instructions for the inoculation process. **Spores NOT Included**
3. Incubate: Store the bags in a warm, dark place to allow mycelium to develop. We recommend keeping your bags off the ground and snuggled up in a warm, dark location at around 75 degrees Fahrenheit.
4. Fruiting: When your bags are fully colonized and ready to fruit, it's time to move them to a cooler area (62-68 degrees Fahrenheit) with indirect lighting for roughly 12 hours a day.
5. Harvest: As your mushrooms mature and stretch toward the sky, the caps will start to flatten out. This means it’s the time you’ve been waiting for- it's harvest time! Cut open the top of the bag to collect your first crop, but don't throw away the bag just yet - it can produce multiple flushes of mushrooms.

Inoculation Instructions:

• Wipe the injection port with the provided alcohol wipe to ensure it’s sterile.
• Attach a sterile needle to your liquid culture or spore syringe. **Spores NOT included**
• Very carefully insert your syringe needle into the injection port and inject 3-5 cc’s of liquid culture or 5 cc’s of spores into the grain.
• Carefully withdraw the needle, place the cap back on, and properly dispose of the needle.
